Antique LONDON ARMOURY CO. Pattern 1856 .577 Cal. CAVALRY Carbine CIVIL WAR North South Skirmish Association N-SSA
Description: Antique LONDON ARMOURY CO. Pattern 1856 .577 Cal. CAVALRY Carbine CIVIL WAR North South Skirmish Association N-SSA Here we present an antique British Proofed London Armoury Company Pattern 1856 Cavalry Carbine Musket made in 1862 in Birmingham, England. The Enfield 1853 and 1856 Cavalry carbine were used by both the North and the South in the American Civil War. The 1853 was the second most widely used infantry weapon in the war, surpassed only by the Springfield Model 1861 Rifled Musket. The Confederates imported more Enfield Patterns during the course of the war than any other small arm, buying from private contractors and gun runners. It has been estimated that over 900,000 P1853 and P1856 Enfields were imported into America and saw service in every major engagement of the war. The overall condition is fine. Robust, excellent action. The bore is in fine shape remaining bright and sharply rifled. Very nice stock. Legible marking. “1862” dated lock. There is the sticker for the North South Skirmish Association dated 1977 on the bottom of the trigger guard that the last owner had on there. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 22 inches. Caliber: .577 Percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $2500 #227631 SOLD Antique: Yes |
