Only a few manufacturers came out with guns which could use this ammunition; these included the Henry repeating rifle (cartridge introduced in 1860), Spencer repeating rifle, Maynard carbine, Frank Wesson rifles, In July 1862, Brigadier-General J. T. Boyle of Kentucky complained about Gallagher guns, calling them 'worthless he than requested Wesson Carbines. This beauty is a 32 rimfire caliber, serial number 5735, walnut butt, steel frame, octagonal barrel marked on the top flat behind the sight "F. WESSON'S PATENT / OCT. 25, 1859 & NOV. 11, 1862 / Worcester Mass.," with a German silver front sight. Barrel lg. 24".Overall lg. 40" Condition Stock has a Handsome Patina, barrel is a plum/blue, the bore is good , in overall VERY good condition.
