Fine++ Civil War 4th model Burnside carbine. Manufactured 1863-1864. .54 caliber, serial #6965 matching. The barrel, top of the breech, top tang and bottom of the frame shows .90% deep blue. Both sides of the frame shows generous smokey rainbow case colors. The screws all look unturned with the stocks showing a few light bumps and and dings. Two strong cartouches are present on the left side at wrist. All stamped markings are present. The bore is bright and crisply rifled. The action is crisp as the gun is overall excellent. The gun appears to never have been issued. Burnside carbines in this condition are much less common than other Civil War issued carbines.
