Description: FINE CIVIL WAR SPENCER CAVALRY CARBINE. Early 39xxx serial range 1864 production with original .50 cal. rim fire 22” barrel. Civil War inspector’s cartouche on stock behind ring bar. Altered during the Indian Wars with the addition of the Stabler Cut-off allowing it to be reloaded with a single cartridge holding the magazine in reserve. Fine all original condition most of the original blue on the barrel and considerable grey case hardening mixed with patina. Spencer address stamp on top of frame. Even the screws are excellent with much of the blue as well. Working order and very good rifling.
