GALLAGHER CARBINE
Description: PRICE REDUCED. This is a late model production Gallagher patent saddle ring carbine manufactured by Richardson and Overman of Philadelphia, PA. The serial number is 24250. It is a fine example of the Gallagher carbine, being of .52 caliber in a percussion ignition style and a barrel length of 22 inches. The bore has strong rifling with powder roughness in the lands, with the barrel retaining overall faint bluing. The sights are standard issue; the rear barrel sight mounting screw is missing the head of the screw; however, the sight is tight to the barrel. The receiver frame is silver grey with a salt and pepper finish. The buttstock has a warm pleasing finish and is stamped with a 5 pointed star cartouche, and has a light, ghost second star cartouche just visible in the stock. The action is strong and robust with a good trigger pull. Thanks for looking.
