Only 1001 made and the first “Bolt Action” cartridge firearm accepted for U.S. issue. 20” round .50 rim fire caliber barrel. Brilliant example and all matching and 100% original to the last screw. 98% original blue and most of the case hardening on the lock. Barrel breech stamped with patent date “DEC. 22, 1863”. Lock plate stamped “U.S./E.G. LAMSOM & CO./WINDSOR, VT.”. Stock with all the original finish and a mint “MM” ( M. Moulton) Springfield Armory Ordnance Inspector’s cartouche at the left wrist. Perfect working order and bright, near mint bore. Superb example and rarely seen for sale.
