Spencer Saddle Ring Carbine Model 1860 SN 48548
Description: The 1860 Model Spencer Repeating Carbines that were manufactured nd used during the American Civil War between 1863-1865, had serial numbers falling between 11,001 and 62,000. The carbine was invented by Christopher M. Spencer of Connecticut and was patented in |2/2/1860 prior to the American Civil War. It's buttstock contained a magazine carrying seven cartridges that could be fired in about 18 seconds. The cartridges were fed to the breech by pressure from a spring in the magazine. It has a 20 inch round barrel with a bright shiny bore. Scattered fine roughness near the muzzel end. 85% original blue the barrel exterior. Original sights. Smooth action. Original saddle ring. Original sling swivels. Gun is in very nice condition. No splits or cracks. A small gauge and saddle marks on the forend. Spencer in the 40k serial range. Hard to find in this condition.
