U.S. Civil War Military Confederate "Z" Marked & Issued Burnside Carbine

Description:
An Early U.S. Civil War Military Confederate "Z" Marked & Issued Burnside Carbine In Very Good Untouched Condition. Early serial #12,292, with all matching numbers. These "Z" marked carbines were "Confederate" captured, refurbished at one of the arsenals, and then reissued to a "Confederate Soldier" for use in the civil war. The "Z" is clearly visible on the bottom of the wood right behind the rear tang. The carbine has very good metal, markings & edges throughout. It is fully U.S. sub inspected.  It has the earlier style hammer on it. All of the metal on the carbine has a very untouched natural dark and even natural brown patina throughout. There are some hints of darkened case colors on the frame area. All screws are also very good throughout. The original wood is very good and has a very old period repair in it at the rear in back of the lock plate. This Confederate repair looks to be period done as it is not fresh and is worn into the rest of the gun with no uneven edges. There are also two clear original U.S. inspectors cartouches on the backside. The carbine has a very good action and bore in it. This Early U.S. Civil War Military Confederate "Z" Marked & Issued Burnside Carbine In Very Good Untouched Condition. It Has A Great Look To It And Was Definitely Used By Both A Union & A Confederate Soldier During The War. It Would Look Wonderful In Any Civil War Collection!
