 A U.S. Civil War Military Issued Sharps & Hankins Army Model Carbine With 24 Inch Barrel In Fine Untouched Condition. Early serial #1,986 with all matching numbers. Only 500 made with 200 ordered by the U.S. Army. The carbine has very good metal with good markings that show some wear in spots. The metal has nice edges. The 24 inch barrel on the gun shows some original blue in areas with the balance turning to a natural plum patina. The frame has original blue finish throughout it on both sides. The top & bottom tangs also retain most of their blue finish. The lever has a mix of blue and patina. The brass butt plate is very nice throughout. All screws are very good. The original wood is fine throughout with nice edges and a nice even color to it.
