A Scarce U.S.N. Civil War Navy Issued Sharps & Hankins Model 1862 Carbine In Excellent Plus Untouched Condition. The Serial # is 11,300 and the gun has all matching numbers. The gun is all original and complete. 8,000 made from 1862-1865. The carbine has excellent metal & markings with sharp edges. The frame, hammer, lever & bottom strap all retain most of their original case colors as shown in the photos. All screws are fine with color. The original leather on the barrel is fine throughout with no damage or breaks in it. This leather was put on to protect the barrel from the salt water on board civil war ships. The wood on the carbine is excellent plus throughout as is the brass butt plate. The bore is excellent and bright. The action is tight and crisp. This Is A Very Difficult Carbine To Find In This Condition. It Is The Best Sharps & Hankins 1862 U.S. Navy Carbine That I Have Seen Or Had In Years!
