"Confederate Richmond Type II rifled musket .58 caliber (AL9969) CONSIGNMENT

Description:
"NSN, made in 1862, .58 caliber, 40"" round rifled barrel. Barrel is a polished grey patina with scattered areas of surface oxidation visible, heavy oxidation is present at the bolster and nipple. Lock plate is of the Type II style with ""C.S/RICHMOND,V.A."" Rear of lock is stamped ""1862"". Stock has been lightly sanded at some point with the initials ""J+S+E/X"", wood loss is noted by the tang, this is from heavy usage during ""battle"". Action holds at half and full cock. Consignment
