"Sharps Conversion Sporting Rifle. This gun started life as a Civil War Saddle Ring carbine and at some point was converted to a sporting rifle. The octagon barrel is a heavy barrel .44 caliber, but we are unsure of the cartridge. The barrel has been drawn filed and refinished. The wood is modern replacement wood. All in all an attractive gun! Austin location.
