"U.S. Civil War Burnside carbine .54 caliber (AL10120)

Description:
"Serial No. 13273, circa 1863-1865, .54 caliber, 21" round barrel. Barrel Is stamped “Cast Steel 1862", barrel is a smooth mottled light and dark grey patina. Serial numbers are matching, factory markings on lock plate and receiver are legible. Stock has expected handling and usage wear, left side has “IAUPD PEO/26 VA BATT". Further research is needed to identify who this Burnside belonged too. It is more than likely to this carbine was captured by the Confederates during battle. Action mechanically functions correctly.
