"U.S. Remington model 1861 civil war rifled musket .58 caliber (AL9764)

Description:
"

NSN, made 1865, .58 caliber, 40"" rifled barrel. Barrel and other iron parts are a mottled grey patina with surface oxidation visible. Lock plate is marked ""Remington's/ilion. N.Y."" Rear of hammer is dated 1865. Barrel is dated 1863 and proofed. Action holds at half and full cock. Stock has been lightly refurbished at some point with the initials ""MR"" inscribed on the right side.
