NSN, made in 1864, .69 caliber 34" round proofed rifle barrel. Barrel and other iron parts have been touched up and are a dull grey patina with light surface oxidation visible. Faint proof and inspector stamps are visible left side. Tang is stamped “8648". Lock plate is of the rifle variation and a trigger guard without finger spur. Lock plate is dated 1864 rear of hammer and has the second style lock plate markings. Bore is fair with frosting and pitting noted in the grooves. Stock shows expected nicks and dings with minor scratches noted. The rear sling swivel has been replaced with a small replacement. Action functions correctly, Comes with period correct bayonet that is non-matching, bayonet has a very tight fit when going on and coming off.
