Description: Antique Belgian FALISSE & TRAPMANN .69 Caliber Rifle-MUSKET CIVIL WAR Dated Charleville Type Musket Made in 1861 Here we present an antique Belgian Falisse & Trapmann Percussion Rifle-Musket manufactured circa 1861 in Liege, Belgium. This is one of the scarcer makes of Civil War imported arms. They are believed to have been mostly issued to the Western Theater. Falisse & Trapmann were a capable maker and later made a direct copy of the Christopher Spencer carbine that was used during the Franco-Prussian War. On this example, the Falisse & Trapmann maker marks and “FT” proofs are seen on several parts throughout, along with being littered with other Belgian proof marks. The overall condition is fair. Gray patina throughout. The actions is strong but the hammer has been replace and is not correct, thus the hammer does not align with the percussion nipple and bolster. The bore is brown with decent rifling. The stock shows wear and use and remains solid. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 40-1/2 inches.
