Asian Copy of an ENGLISH CAVALRY CARBINE

Here we present an antique Asian or Possibly Middle Eastern Copy of an English Military Style Percussion Saddle Ring Cavalry Carbine made circa the 1850s-60s. Reducing the length of these British pattern carbines dates to the Seven Years Wars when new Light Infantry Corps and Highland Regiments in North America began cutting down their muskets. This allowed the soldier freer movement in the tougher terrain where many battles were fought on. 

The top of barrel is marked "521 13." with the lock marked with "6081/TOWER" and a crown.

The overall condition is good. Bright gray patina on the barrel and lock. The smooth bore remains good. The refinished stock is solid with a crack wrapping under the lock plate and flat. A chip in the tip of the forend is separated and included. Strong action. Modified piece under the triggerguard. Legible markings. “6/55” is marked on the right buttstock. Field replacement saddle ring.
