European CIVIL WAR Era Antique FULL STOCK .75 Percussion Conversion Musket
FLINTLOCK to PERCUSSION with BOLSTER CONVERSION
Description: European CIVIL WAR Era Antique FULL STOCK .75 Percussion Conversion Musket FLINTLOCK to PERCUSSION with BOLSTER CONVERSION Here we present an antique European Percussion Conversion Musket, made circa the early 1800s likely in Western Europe. This musket would have started out life as a flintlock and converted when the more reliable percussion firing system was introduced, possibly around the onset of the Civil War. The American Civil War happened during a period of great firearms advancement throughout the world, but particularly in the United States. The primary transition was from muzzle-loaders to breech-loaders, from loose ball and powder to self-contained cartridges. Dozens of different small arms, namely cavalry carbines, were used in the conflict. The war saw obsolete technology fighting next to the cutting edge, and both sides needed it all. Imagine the logistical nightmare of supplying so many different types of ammunition! When the Civil War began, both sides were desperate for small arms. Arms purchasers and speculators scoured Europe and England for small arms available for purchase. It is unknown who the maker of this musket is. The overall condition is good. Fully functioning action. Good bore for its age. Some cracks are present around the wrist that show movement with light pressure. Markings are legible. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 33 inches. Caliber: .75 Percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1200 #233776 SOLD Antique: Yes |
