HARPERS FERRY US m1842 PERCUSSION MUSKET & BAYONET... LAYAWAY?


Description:
CONTACT ME FIRST TO MAKE SURE THAT IT'S STILL AVAILABLE....Produced from 1844 through 1855 at the Harpers Ferry arsenal. This example is dated 1851 with makers legend, US and eagle stamped on lock. Tang is also dated 1851 and barrel breech shows the eagle head VP proof. All metal finished in the white and features three barrel bands, an integral sight on front band, Trumpet head ram rod, braised on rear sight, two swivels and sporting a walnut stock. There is a vestige cartouche on left sight but not legible. CONDITION: Fine. Metal is clean and shows oxidation along with some pepper finish at breech. All legends are crisp. Someone put tiny nails in a circular pattern. I don't see a need for a "repair." Scattered light dings. Mechanically sound. Smooth bore shows some residue. Comes with US marked bayonet.
