J.H. Merrill Rifle
BreechLoading Percussion Rifle
Description: For sale we have a consigned J.H.Merrill breech loading 54 caliber percussion rifle. This rifle was family owned and passed on. What we know about this rifle is that the carbines are out there, but the rifles are quite rare. I am not one to brag all my new found facts about this rifle, but I will say this. This rifle, as far as condition goes, this rifle is as nice if not nicer than everything that’s out there right now. What I did notice is, there are no cartouches I can see, I don't know if they're worn off or I missed them. Also I don’t see any inspector marks or markings, I am far from a Civil War rifle specialist, but from a standpoint of condition, the screws look to be right, and there isn’t anything jumping out at you when looking over the rifle. The serial number is clearly marked 911, which with all that we read, I have questions myself. As far as pricing goes, it’s no different than any other firearm, is that they are from 2000 to 10,000. So if you are interested, you can give me a call and I will be happy to listen or try to find out what no cartouches mean or even inspector stamping. All I know for sure right now is that it is a rare firearm, and I believe it to be original. Again, no expert, but that’s my take. So if you're excited ? So am I. This will ship to your door, and I feel based on what we have been looking at is a reasonable asking price. Need more info, give us a call. Shipping will be actual. SOLD |
