From a Midwest sale, a Joslyn American Civil War era breech loading rifle 52 caliber. For its age it has a smooth action with a strong hammer spring. 34" round barrel with a dark bore. The action, trigger and hammer function as they should and the action is relativity tight. The receiver and barrel of the rifle are a grey patina (see photos). The barrel has a vee groove elevation adjustable rear sight and a fixed block front sight. The stock and forend are solid with no cracks or chips; however, there are dents and dings on the wood from the last 100+ years. The stock is fitted with a steel, military style butt plate and the lock is dated 1864. Everything functions as it should and shows normal wear. The rifle appears to have been maintained and is in excellent condition for its age (see photos). Although it appears capable, I can not guarntee a rifle this old will shoot; therefore, with the exception of firing, I'm offering this rifle with a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
