Description:
A vintage mid 19th Century 12ga double hammer percussion hsotgun with 30" damascus barrels with exterior finish of dark grey and some areas of very fine surface pits from handlinhg, but shows up well. Hammer are matched and work well. Comes with a hardwood ramrod and iron tip, LOP is about 15". ?the English walnut stock is good with nomissues, and has a German silver imlay in the base for a cap box, and the nose cap is also German silver. The locks and hammer have foliate chisel engraving. This gun shows up well, and many were imported for the Civil War. Bores are exceptionally clean with only slight surfa ce corrosion, but any gun over 100 years old not guaranteed to shoot.Nipples are strong and clean, not mashed. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith  before  shooting.
