New Jersey Marine 1857 Civil War Rifle

Description:
   SOLD    A rare Civil War purchased .69 cal two band French import rifle known as a marine/naval rifle by th state of New Jersey. Most examples found are three band long rifled. These were purchased for use by Marine/Naval use and Artillery men use also. This fine gun with it's poriginal ram-rod has a 33" round barel with a clean, riflee bore. Action works very well, and the exterior metal is in the white as issued. French walnut stock has no issues . Left side of stock has an ovel NJ proof and the breech of the barrel also stamped N.J. . On the top edge of the stock near the butt-plate is painted 29 a reck number for sure. An added wide leather sling is present. Overall very clean original conditio and rare in this configuration.When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith  before  shooting.
