Original antique US ModeL 1812 Flintlock converted to percussion 69 Caliber musket
Description: Original antique US Model 1812 formerly flintlock musket converted to percussion by the French style or nipple drum conversion in the early 1850's, prior to the Civil war. This model 1812 musket appears to be the first type as the band springs are located before the bands. These were made circa 1812-1816 by Springfield and various contactors with a total production of approximately 30,000 muskets. The only markings visible on the rifle is a proof mark near breach. The metal is a grey brown mix with scattered pitting. The full length walnut stock is in good condition with a short crack behind the lock and some lose near the top band on the left side. The smooth bore 42" full length barrel has a bayonet lug near the muzzle. The lock functions on half and full cock. The musket appears original and complete with sling swivels and original ramrod. A good example of a early 200 plus year old military musket. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Shipping will be actual cost by insured usps mail with tracking.
