U.S. Civil War 1861 Contract Musket (AL4893)

Description:

U.S. Civil War 1861 contract musket. Lock plate is marked “U” eagle “S” over Providence Tool C Providence RI. Date behind hammer is 1864. Manufactured from 1862-1865, with 70,000 produced. These were heavily used during the Civil War. Metal has a dark patina with surface pitting. Stock shows wear with no cracks.
