U.S. Civil War "Confederate Captured" & Used "Q" Marked Springfield Model 1861 Musket Dated 1862          

Description:
 An Early & Desirable U.S. Civil War "Confederate Captured" & Used "Q" Marked Springfield Model 1861 Musket Dated 1862 In Nice Untouched Condition. All original and complete. The Confederate "Q" marking is visible on the wood behind the rear lower tang. This marking means that the musket was captured from the Union, sent to a Confederate Armory, refurbished, and then reissued to a Confederate Soldier. The musket has nice metal and markings throughout. All of the metal on the musket has a nice mellow natural patina on it. There is a clear eagle on the lock, & it is marked "U.S. SPRINGFIELD" to the right of it. The top of the barrel is marked with a "V/P/EAGLE" on the side of it. The top of the butt plate is marked "U.S." The musket has fine wood throughout with nice edges. The ramrod is original. It has a fine action and very good bore. This Is An Early And Fine Example Of A Desirable U.S. Civil War "Confederate Captured" & Used "Q" Marked Springfield Model 1861 Musket Dated 1862!
