Cogswell & Harrison custom Mauser
Description:
Available for purchase is this 50's? custom Mauser sporter by the English firm of Cogswell and Harrison. C&H is London's oldest surviving gunmaker, going back to 1770, still in business today. Highly regarded, their custom work speaks for itself. This particular rifle appears to have been set up as a fairly basic big game/safari rifle, when you consider the hand made custom express sights. It is chambered in 300 H&H. The rifle itself appears to have been a pre war Mauser sporter, but I'm not sure. There are just the barest reminders of previous markings/stamps that were evidently polished off by C&H. It is drilled and tapped for scope mounts- but no mounts- filler screws all in place. There is a Timney offset safety.
Walnut stock with hand checkering and one short crack running about an inch vertically from the trigger on the right side. It has a Kick Eez butt pad. Bore is mint. $35 shipping to the lower 48 and 3% surcharge for using a CC.
