Pre-Ban 1975 Colt SP1 AR-15 Rifle in .223 Remington / 5.56 NATO ** Beautiful 100% Original and Complete Early SP1 **

Description:
If you have been looking for an extremely clean and all-original "Pre-Ban" early production Colt SP1 AR-15 for your collection this is it.  This 1975 vintage SP1 appears to have spent it's entire life in storage and is nearly flawless, rating 98%.  These early guns with the slab sides (no reinforcing rib on magwell/lower) and no shell deflector or forward assist are extremely sought-after as they most closely resemble a Vietnam War-issue M16.  These early variations are so in-demand that Colt recently made a limited run of reproduction M16A1's that have these early features that are selling for over $2500 new!  This particular SP1 is serial number SP49427 and is vintage original in phenomenal condition.  If it has been fired, it has been fired a handful of times at most.  The chrome bore in this SP1 is flat mint with no visible imperfections and nice sharp rifling.  The internals are just as pristine as the exterior, with little to no finish wear on the small parts and absolutely zero mechanical wear on the moving parts.  The original Colt factory parkerizing is in beautiful shape with a very pleasing and consistent gray color tone and very few visible handling/storage marks.  The factory applied dap of black paint to seal the pin thru the bolt stop is even still intact on this SP1.  All of the Colt factory stampings are in excellent shape and legible, including the stamping on the top of the barrel "C MP Chrome Bore".  All of the small parts are factory original on this Colt including the small flat-band delta ring and the early model "bird cage" flash hider with slots all the way around.  The original Colt-manufactured early Vietnam-type furniture set on this SP1 looks great and is in excellent condition overall.  All three pieces are free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or major damage/wear.  They all show only some very minor handling/storage marks but nothing that detracts from the extremely clean and crisp look of this Colt SP1.  All of the controls on this rifle work 100% like the day it left the factory.  The action is smooth and goes into battery with authority, and the original two-stage combat trigger is excellent, breaking with a light pull with no grit or slop at the second stage.  This Colt should function perfectly if the new owner chooses to shoot it.  This SP1 comes with the original blackfactory sling attached to it, which is in excellent condition like the rifle.  This is truly a "Collector Grade" Colt SP1 rifle.  With the prices on all-original specimens in excellent condition like this one steadily climbing every year, if you have been wanting to add one to your collection here is your chance.  It would be nearly impossible to upgrade from this beautiful weapon.
