These Colt brand M4 carbines that run 22LR ammo were made in Germany by Walther but have the Colt name on the receiver. We sold a lot of the 22LR Colt 1911 pistols that were made by Walther as well. It was a good partnership between two industry giants and the winners were the shooting public that ended up with affordable but high quality firearms.
The 22LR version has a lot of the same features as the 5.56 NATO M-4. The charging handle and safety are in familiar places. The carry handle is detachable and the stock is a collapsible multi-position version. The rear sight is a flip aperture and the front is a standard post.
The front handguard is aluminum but, on this one, a picatinny rail has been added to the underneath side. The metal finish is black and the barrel has a parkerized type of finish on it.
The owner reports that he’s only put about 200 rounds through the rifle and, based on condition, we’d think that was pretty accurate. The bore is very clean and the barrel is bright. We don’t see evidence of a lot of use. The metal finish grades as Very Good, as does the parkerized portion. The stock and handguard are in Excellent condition.
This rifle is all about fun. A quality brand, a great looking rifle and about the most inexpensive ammo that you’re going to find. Take this to the range for the day and you won’t even put a dent in your wallet when you pay for the ammo.
