EXTREMELY SCARCE COLT LIGHTENING 50 EXPRESS CARBINE
Description: This gun has a 20 inch barrel chambered in the powerful 50-95 Express caliber. Excellent bright shiny bore. Crisp action. Includes the original front and rear sights. Barrel and mag tube retain 90% + bright blue. The receiver has about 95% blue overall. The bottom of the frame and the lower tang is mostly a gun metal grey color. Good case colors on the hammer. The original wood is in excellent condition with most of its original varnish still being present but does show a few light dings and mars. A "64" rack number on the right side of the stock. The forearm features some sharp checkering. Most blue remains on the Carbine style butt. SN is in 2,300 range. The mechanical function is excellent. The 50 express is engraved on the side of the barrel as well as some proof marks. This is a good clean gun and I don't believe I have ever seen another one with a carbine butt on it like this.
