Very Scarce Colt Burgess Lever Action .44.40 caliber rifle. Overall length is approximately 42¾’. The 25½” round barrel has a very good bore with strong rifling. All metal has a smooth even brown patina. The stocks are very good with light handling marks, no chips or cracks. The action functions correctly. The Burgess was Colt’s only lever action rifle. Only produced from 1883 to 1885, with only 3,810 being manufactured. Only a few have survived in collectible condition. This is one. Don’t miss it!
