This is a Colt Lightning manufactured in 1884, the first year of production. It is serial number 2243, with a 26\" octagon barrel and the Rocky Mountain sights. It is overall in Good condition considering the age and the action is still fast and slick! It has the usual non-factory, replacement screws in the foreend. The bore is dark with some pitting but has been cleaning-out well and the rifling is clearly defined. The rifle does appear to be completely functional and we were able to cycle factory .44-40 (without firing). The stock has a small piece missing near the top tang and a crack at the buttplate. Both of these are pictured.
