Colt Lightning Rifle, .22 Caliber, 24" Barrel, 6 lbs.

Description:
The Colt Lightning Small Frame, manufactured between 1887 and 1904, was the first rimfire rifle produced by Colt. Often referred to as the "Second Model," it gained significant popularity as a gallery and target rifle, with approximately 89,912 units produced. Originally featured a high-polish blue finish on the barrel and receiver, with a color case-hardened hammer. Two-piece American walnut stock with a straight grip and a matching smooth wooden forearm. Fitted with a black checkered hard rubber buttplate featuring the embossed "Rampant Colt" trademark. Has a fixed blade front sight with a dove tail notch rear sight. Like many early pump actions, the Lightning could be "slam-fired" by holding the trigger and rapidly cycling the pump handle. .22
