RARE NICKEL PLATED COLT LIGHTNING BABY CARBINE IN CALIBER 38-40

Description:
This Medium Frame 20 inch lightweight Baby Carbine still has traces of nickel but most has flaked off leaving a plum/brown color. Chambered in 38 WCF caliber with a bright shiny bore that has good rifling and just a couple of very light spots of pitting towards the muzzle. Generally you don't find these with bores this good. Sights include an adjustable ladder rear and a post type front. Nice action. Original saddle ring. Walnut stocks are in good condition with the typical handling dings and mars. Carbine style buttplate. This is a decent hard to find Colt made in 1891. Baby carbines in 38-40 caliber are rarely encountered especially nickle plated.
