Cal. 30 Carb. S# 4144828. Bbl. 18". Bbl. marked behind rear sight "MARLIN, flaming bomb & marked on top "P". Bbl. band marked "KI". Stamped adj. rear sight marked "J.A.O.". Blade front sight marked "RIA". Straight cut slide marked inside w/ "W". Rnd. bolt marked "IO". Trigger housing marked on left side w/ "N" & "9". Rotary safety. Mag. catch marked "M". Has extension for 30 rd. mag. Straight cut hammer marked "NH". 2 Rivet walnut handguard marked "TN" for Trimble . Walnut buttstock marked "TN" in sling slot. Right side of buttstock has faint boxed "NP" & faint crossed cannons. Greensling. This carbine has a rare Marlin barrel. Only about 100,000 or so Marlin barrels were made during the war, most have no date which is the case with this barrel.
MAGS: 1 - 15 rd. mag. marked "IU".
CONDITION: buttstock has extensive wear, dents, scratches & staining throughout. Handguard has notably better finish, indicates possible replacement. Thinning gray parkerized finish w/ wear & scratches throughout. Very good shiny bore. Diameter at muzzle .300 inch.
UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 6 5/8" bayonet marked "U.S.M4 IMPERIAL". Black checkered plastic grips. Scabbard marked "USM8A1". Bayonet & scabbard appear unissued w/ very light wear & handling marks. Bayonet adn scabbard are not included in thbse price and are an extra $150.00 for the bahonet and scabbard.
