DPMS A-15 Custom CMP Match Competition Rifle 20-inch Heavy Barrel

This is a CMP Match-type rifle built on the AR-15 platform. This example is built around a DPMS A-15. The trigger is a Geissele Automatics match trigger. The 20-inch-long heavy stainless match barrel is unmarked but is the type typically found on these types of rifles. Although the twist is unknown, it is most likely to be either a 1 in 8 inches or a 1 in 7 inches twist for stabilizing the heavy, match-type bullets used in competition matches. These bullets usually run between 73 and 77 grains. With the proper loads, the rifles  are usually expected to hit targets at ranges not normally associated with the AR-15 or the 5.56/.223 cartridge. The forearm of the rifle is an A2 look-a-like, that in reality, is actually a free-float forend for better accuracy. The A2 stock is filled with a heavy lead weight (for balancing the rifle). The sights are standard for a High Power rifle. The rear sight is a hooded peep rear sight that allows for ¼-minute adjustments. The front sight is the standard post-type. Sight radius is a respectable 20-5/8 inches. The bore is in superb shape. There is some minor wear on the receivers as well as the barrel. Overall, this is a very interesting rifle. There is no magazine. This is a consignment rifle, we are selling it on behalf of a third party. Update 3-3-2026: Two Colt 20-round magazines have been added to the rifle.
