Walther KK-200 (KK200) UIT/ISU .22lr Match Rifle, extremely rare example
Description: A very rare, Walther rifle equal in quality and accuracy to G&E, Tanner, Bleiker, and Keppeler .22lr guns. Probably less than 20 of these were made between approximately 1980 through current date. The one offered is the only one known to ever have been imported into the USA. It is paired with a commercial version KK-200 for spare parts and comparison purposes. The first rifle is ex-German National Team competition use. Unlike all other Walther (or Anschutz) rifles, the National Team rifles were equal in quality to Bleiker, G&E, or Tanner rifles, custom made for the German Team using otherwise standard sights and stocks, and were very different from "specially selected" guns provided to individual competitors,. This rifle uses the then-standard aluminum stock, a bi-directional counterweight system (can be forward of the foreend or reversed), Walther sights, spare mechanical trigger, and clear sight insert set are included. This original KK-200 electronic trigger, became very unreliable, and was replaced by the standard KK-200 match trigger. The electronic unit is included, if one wishes to repair it. The spare NOS KK200 trigger also shown for this rifle also fits the standard KK-200 sold at the same time. This rifle, one of those very few every produced by Walther of quality and precision comparable to Bleiker, Keppeler, G&E, or Tanner, comparable to the those manufacturers, the OEM weight system with the rifle accompishes the identical function, and is adjustable for the specific ammunition used. The standard, wood stocked Walther KK200 or KK-200, paired with it, has rifle, stock, and trigger quality comparable to the best of the Anschutz model 54 series and many other alternative brands, or the current Walther production. This particular wood stock KK200 had better accuracy than a Supermatch FWB short barrel rifle 2602 in recent comparison testing. The metal stock KK-200 is significantly better than that, and is one of the few Walther rifles that truly is comparable to "the best" manufacturers' production. Please note, the metal stock KK200 offered here is NOT the same rifle as advertised at a number of other locations and listing services, usually for around $4500 or thereabouts. This one uses a tapered stainless steel barrel, but more importantly, is a factory-custom made barreled action prepared specially for the German National team. It is one of a very few Walther factory rifles that truly equal the factory production G&E, Keppeler, Tanner, or Bleiker quality. With both rifles, the original, as-issued rear sight, original front tunnel, an assortment of Walther front sight metal inserts that fit this tunnel, and the plastic "selector wheel" of Walther plastic ghost rear sights. No case for the wood stock rifle. A SN matched OEM plastic case is included with the metal stock rifle, in tolerably good condition overall, scratched on the exterior from use, but with the original SN. These remain available from various dealers. Images of sights shown off rifle, at end of images group. These sights are original to the gun. The selector case and ghost inserts are not original to the rifles, but are OEMs Walther. These can be omitteed from the purchase and replaced by a few individual metal or plastic inserts for reduced price, if desired. Walther front sight tunnels can use Anschutz plastic or ghost inserts, but not the Anchutz metal inserts. The current sight tunnel on the metal stock rifle is not original to the rifle, but the original one is included in a plastic baggie. The wood of the stock for the standard production KK200 has some variations in color that are factory production variations, and some wood impressions of same origin. It has a few minimal (under 1/32") pinpint dings as well, that are extremely difficult to find. Importer marks on receivers. The metal stock offered is a standard version from that era and production type, Two butt pieces are included, as is a blue laminated bench rest fore-end piece that can be used with either of the rifles. Two Walther match diopter rear sights are included, and three front tunnels, plus the inserts, and extension tube and spare NOS trigger for this rifle, that will fit either rifle. Only one OEM SN matched case is included. The wood stock KK200 has no German date anywhere on the action, barrel, or bolt, rendering it extremely rare. The Ulm proof mark present. Date of manufacture around 2000. The metal stock one has the usual proof marks and SN matching the case. Sold as a pair for historical/collector interest, and to allow comparision by the user between the two very different stock system and bolted action combinations. Accessories such as the barrel extension tube, sights, weight system, fore-end rests interchange. The butt plates do not, and are specific to their respective stocks. Shipping is around $150 to most US locations for the pair of rifles, but can be higher to remote or more distant locations.
