Al Biesen Custom Mauser 30-06 1952 Museum Quality

Al Biesen Custom Mauser 98 commissioned in 1952. Kept in original, as-new condition exactly the way it left Al's bench. The rifle has over 25 pages of correspondence between the original owner and Al, the engraver, various parts suppliers and even a hand signed letter from Elmer Keith assisting the original owner search for butt plates and grip caps. The scope is the original Lyman Alaskan, also in as-new condition. The invoice for the scope is included in the paperwork. The rifle has a Griffin and Howe side mount as well as a receiver sight. The slide to the sight is still in the trap butt in the small flannel bag Biesen made for it. No expense was spared at the time of production, including a gold inlay of a grizzly bear on the floorplate. The bore is perfect, and there are little to no signs of handling anywhere.
 
I have personally owned over a dozen Biesen rifles over the years, and have inspected dozens more, and have never seen one from the golden years of Al's career that is still in this condition, or with this level of documentation. Truly a once in a lifetime opportunity for a collector of classic American hunting rifles from the golden age of big-game hunting.
