Bolliger / Mountain Riflery Best Grade .375 H&H Magnum, squarebridged Mauser 98, quarter rib, AAA English, Lisa Tomlin game scene, Swarovski, layaway
Description:
Bolliger / Mountain Riflery Best Grade .375 H&H Magnum. Built around a commercial Mauser 98 action, serial 3464 is fitted with a 24-inch barrel (recessed crown, .660-inch muzzle diameter, full-length rib, banded skeletonized hooded front sight assembly with brass-beaded blade and flip-up moon bead, banded skeletonized sling swivel stud, quarter rib with fixed and folding express leafs marked 50/300). ACTION: The highly-refined and square-bridged action features a jeweled bolt body, custom bolt handle, custom shroud with three-position safety, extended upper tang and custom extended bottom metal. Custom skeletonized 30mmn rings detach easily and contoured caps take their place to protect the slots. STOCK: The exhibition grade English blank showcases bold character and sleek lines. Dressings include fine wrap checkering accented with ribbons and fleurs, pedestalled bolt release, palm swell, scalloped cheek rest with shadow line, wrapping heel and toe clips, island center plate with trap door, steel grip cap with wrapping extensions and a screwless pedestalled toe line stud. ENGRAVING: A masterwork of both understated elegance and extraordinary detail, Lisa Tomlin centered the floorplate with a magnificent walking lion surrounded by delicate scroll and thin gold wire. In a most complimentary fashion, she continued the pattern over the balance of the metal surfaces and design elements together in a seamless, unequaled fashion. Her signature runs along the top of the left wall. OPTIC: A Swarovski Z8i 1.7-13.3x42P (illuminated dot and circle, .35 MOA clicks) is mounted and remains in new condition. CAPACITY: Five rounds (four plus one). The extractor “snaps over” rounds dropped into the chamber. Feeding/extraction/ejection are smooth and positive. DIMENSIONS: Weight (with optic) is 10.8 pounds and the length-of-pull is 13.85 inches. CONDITION: The bore is outstanding. Metal finish is over 95 percent with some modest indications of careful carrying and handling. Wood is similar, with one small impression on the butt and a few light impressions and rubs otherwise. No case or papers. More photos available. The price is firm and layaway is available. $60,000 plus shipping.
