Crafted around a Winchester Model 70 CRF action, serial 35EZW09716 has a 24.5-inch barrel (25.75 inches with brake, .755-inch muzzle diameter at the threads, recessed crown, banded hooded front sight assembly with brass-beaded blade and flip-up moon, banded sling swivel stud, quarter rib with fixed and folding express blades marked 50/150 with gold sighting lines). ACTION: Features include a jeweled bolt body, custom bolt handle with checkered knob (five bordered panels), reshaped and checkered bolt release button and custom drop box bottom metal. STOCK: Formed from an exhibition English blank with exceptionally tight figure, formalities include an ebony forend tip with widow's peak, fine wrap checkering highlighted by ribbons and ornate fleurs, palm swell, scalloped cheek rest with shadow line, steel grip cap, screwless toe line stud with oval base, Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad and a satin finish. ENGRAVING: Michael Dubber created an outstanding walking lion centering the floorplate and a glowering Cape buffalo bust on the cap, each in gold relief. Surrounded by intricate scroll in turn bordered by gold wire, the theme continues over the action, graces the sight assemblies, band, mounts, plugs and stud. Dubber's signature appears forward of the guard. OPTIC: A Swarovski Z8i 1.7-13.3x42P (illuminated dot and circle) is secured in Talley 30mm quick detaching rings mated to Bolliger custom scalloped bases. The scope is pristine. CAPACITY: Four rounds (three plus one). The extractor “snaps over” rounds dropped into the chamber. Feeding/extraction/ejection are smooth and dependable.
