Custom built Win Mod 70 in 22 K-Hornet

Description:
Custom built Win Mod 70 in 22 K-Hornet

This is a custom built rifle built on a pre-war Winchester Model 70 22 Hornet action. The barrel was replaced with an Octagon barrel built by Al Storey, 22” in length and it features and integral rib. The stock was also replaced with a nice piece of figured wood and given an ebony tip. The butt plate and grip cap are both skeletons, and are filled with nice checkering. The floor plate is from a Winchester Super Grade, and the scope base is a one piece Leupold mount. Bore is very good and shiny. This is a solid well built 8.5LB rifle. Note that standard hornet ammo will feed and fire in this rifle. As you fire the round, the case is fire formed into the K-Hornet. Dies are available. Kilbourne developed this cartridge back in the late 40s ( I believe) as he was looking for more velocity out of the regular hornet. This gun was built about 15-20 years ago.
