CUSTOM FANCY 1885 WINCHESTER HIGH WALL HEAVY SPORTER/BENCH RIFLE, 32-40 CALIBER
Description: CUSTOM FANCY 1885 WINCHESTER HIGH WALL HEAVY SPORTER/BENCH RIFLE, 32-40 CALIBER. Aside from the caliber stamping on the barrel, this one is unmarked. It features a 32” oct. barrel that is about 7/8” at the muzzle. The receiver is full blued with a single set trigger that functions correctly. The lever has been extended past the pistol grip. The walnut is a spectacular piece of burl that is nicely checkered at the pistol grip and sides of the wide beaver tail forearm that has a black ebony tip. Checkered hard rubber butt plate, fine barrel blue shows a little age only, has no provision for iron sights and has scope blocks installed. In transporting this rifle via the airlines, they obviously mishandled the aluminum case (that was well padded) and when I got home the stock had a clean break through the wrist. I had it professionally repaired with pins etc. and it is probably stronger now than before the break. You can see the break line, but it is completely solid now. Action is tight, jeweled breech block, trigger pull is crisp and very light (adjustable) and the bore is perfect. Weighs right at about 12 ¼ lbs. Won’t be any recoil from this one and ought to be a great shooter.
