Custom Military 98 Mauser Bolt Action Rifle with a John J.R. Buhmiller Barrel Chambered in .257 Roberts 1950's

We offer you a “Custom” Military 98 Mauser Bolt Action Rifle with a John “J.R.” Buhmiller Barrel in .257 Roberts. This custom rifle is not fancy or beautiful but is an excellent shooter. The rifle was made in the 1950’s and was hunted with for decades. It spent long trips in a scabbard during travel by horseback by the original owner. It started with a military 98 Mauser action and was barreled with a John Buhmiller barrel chambered in .257 Roberts. John “J.R.” Buhmiller was one of the top barrel markers at time. It is 22 inch medium heavy taper that has an excellent bore with no issues. The finish shows marks, wear and thinning as shown. The action has commercial proofs and was drilled and tapped for a Redfield scope mount that is still wears. The bolt was altered for scope use as you can see. The receiver, bolt and bottom metal all have the matching serial number “33”. It all sits in a dense Walnut stock that also shows dings, marks with a crack at the tang. The L.O.P. is 13 3/8 inches over the butt plate. The left side of barrel is marked "J.R. Buhmiller / 257 RBTS.". The left side of the action is marked “Small Crown - Crown/N – 2,4 gG.B.P. / St. m.g. / 33” – “DEUTSCHE WAFFEN – UND / MUNITIONSFABRIKEN. BERLIN.”. The rifle functions just fine with no issues. The scope base screws are fine with the holes having no hidden issues. This will be shipped fully insured UPS Ground to your FFL for $50. It will be shipped in a double walled cardboard box that we have manufactured for us so that your gun arrives safe. Payment to be made by USPS Money Order or Cashier’s Check.
