Price Reduced-Offered, from my personal collection, is a high quality and extensively reworked 1909 Mauser in .270 Winchester. The action has been surface ground to clean up any imperfections that may have existed. The caliber, serial number, and 09 MAU have been professionally hand engraved on the action. The hinged floorplate is a straddle type with bow release, believed to be by Blackburn ($600.00 option) . The safety is a custom model 70 type, mounted on the bolt shroud. The bolt handle is pear shaped and has fine 2 panel checkering. The Phil Fisher stock is hand crafted from a nicely figured English walnut blank with lots of black streaking. Checkering is very fine (28 or 30 lpi) wrap around with ribbons and fleur-dis-lis incorporated. The nicely shaped cheek piece has a shadow line. The barrel is light sporter, 24 inches in length. Grip cap is 1 screw steel. Butt pad is black rubber by Pachmayer, basket weave. Metal finish appears to be high quality rust blue, which is befitting a rifle of this quality.
