DeLorge .300 Winchester
Description: This beautiful gun made Ed DeLorge of Houma, LA features a 26" sightless Lilja .300 Winchester Magnum barrel with a muzzlebrake. Built on a Yugoslavian commercial Mauser 98 action that features a three position side swinf safety, Timney fully adjustable trigger, custom bottom metal with straddle floorplate and trigger bow release, two screw inletted swivel studs fore and aft, and old style Warne lever release rings. Stocked in the American Classic style in a superb piece of English Walnut with very good grain flow and dark mineral streaking throughout as well as some fiddleback figure. Stock features include a shadowline cheekpiece, ebony forend tip, and exquisite Fleur de Lis checkering which is 28 LPI. LOP is 13 1/4" to a 1/2" Decelerator pad. It will go 13 3/4" with a 1" pad. weight is 8lb 12oz without a scope. The barrel shank, receiver, rings, bolt shroud, floorplate, trigger guard, and grip cap exhibit Mr. DeLorge's outstanding scroll engraving with extensive linear gold inlay on all engraved parts and a Grizzly head on the floorplate. I can not photographically do justice to the quality of this engraving. This is an outstanding that piece remains in new condition. It has obviously not been hunted. It's replacement cost would far exceed the asking price! It is a kissing cousin to the DeLorge .270 Winchester that I also have listed. SOLD |
