Frank Wells Bolt Action Rifle .577 Rimless

Frank Wells Custom Rifle chambered for .577 Rimless.

Based on Frank Wells proprietary, magnum length, double square bridge Mauser type control-round feed action. Three round rifle, stripping the first round from the magazine.  Three-position M70 type safety, 2 panel checkered bolt knob, jeweled bolt body and magazine follower, machined one-piece bottom metal with a straddle floorplate.

The 24" barrel has a nice taper despite its heavy contour and is fitted with a 4" long removable muzzle-brake with vertically cut vents. The quater rib has two dovetails cut for mounting a "scout" scope with Warne rings. Currently a Leica red dot sight is on a dovetail mount replacing the rear sight, ramp front sight with a large brass bead. 

The stock is shaped from a peice of California English walnut with a rich color and figure, wrap point checkering on the forend and 3-panel point checkering on the pistol grip, RH shadow line cheekpiece, 1" pachmayr recoil pad, engraved trap grip cap, a spare white bead foresight and allan key, rear sling stud on the toe line and a barrel mounted sling swivel, ebony forend tip, Two cross bolts with ebony plugs and a recoil lug on the bottom of the barrel.  

Rifle weighs 13 lbs 6 oz. and, for obvious reasons, does not appear to have been shot very much. 

This IS NOT the same cartridge as a .577 T-Rex or .585 Nyati.  

This rifle is chambered for a .577 a full length .577 3" NE with the rim turned down to fit the magnum bolt face.
