#537523, Gary Goudy 280 Remington Full Custom Built by Him in 1980 on a Winchester Pre-64 Model 70 Action, The action was made in 1961, 24" barrel without open sights, 1 piece Redfield/Leupold scope base, Model 70 trigger, Action rails inside are polished, Built-up & checkered bolt stop release, Model 70 bottom metal, A Goudy Custom Classic style stock, Very nice wood, A slight schnabel with a Kite forend tip, Shadowline cheekpiece, Steel grip cap, Full wrap around point pattern checkering in pure Goudy style that is very well done, Sling studs, 7 lbs. 6 oz. as is with the base, 13 1/2" LOP over a 1" pad, The bore remains as new, The original blue remains at 96%, The original stock finish at 94%, The checkering is at 99%. Mr. Goudy is one of the best stockers and certainly is at the top of the class of American Classic Style bolt rifles. He knows the game well and he is a hunter that applies the field to the gun.
