**SPF**Beautiful Gary Goudy Oberndorf Mauser .257 Roberts. The gun was built on a Mauser Standard Modell action dating back to around 1933. The action is beautifully polished inside and out with a 2-position saftey and a Canjar trigger. Bolt handle appears to be the original Oberndorf pear shaped handle, turned down for scope clearance and 3-panel checkered. It is coupled with Blackburn bottom metal and a 22" custom barrel (not sure of manufacturer, but it appears to be a Douglas Sporter contour). Very nice rust blue finish. The metal work is not marked, but it looks like Herman Waldron's work and is flawless. The stock is marked by Goudy in his usual spot just forward of the action. It has a four screw skeleton buttplate, pedestal sling studs, ebony forend tip and Goudy's beautiful ribbon and fleur checkering pattern. The wood is a very nicely figured piece of what appears to be Turkish walnut. LOP is 13 1/2". The gun has been hunted some and has a few dings and minor scratches on the stock. The metal shows some light wear on the buttplate and the edges of the floor plate. Overall I'd call the wood 95% and the metal 98%. I do not believe the gun has been shot much as there is little wear evident on the bolt handle and bolt face. Scope not included, but rings and bases are. I will consider partial trade offers. Asking $5995 OBO.
