Hensley/Heilmann Custom Mauser .35 Whelen

Description:
Exquisite custom rifle by the renowned craftsman Darwin Hensley (wood) and Steve Heilmann (metal), based on a commercial Mauser action in the caliber of .35 Whelen.   It remains in 99% condition and appears to be unfired. Features include: an English walnut stock with Hensley's superb design and execution measuring 13.75" LOP to a smooth metal butt; Heilmann's modification of the action into a single square bridge with a unique raised three-notch modified Rigby peep sight; and casehardening on the buttplate, the rear double pedestal swivel, the engraved double crossbolts, the trapdoor grip cap, and the bolt shroud.  Weight is 7.5 pounds.  

This is fantastic looking and handling rifle and was made during the 1990's when these craftsmen paired up to make a limited number of custom rifles.  It is marked "Hensley & Heilmann, No. 238" on the barrel  Hensley is no longer working, so a rifle by this pair will never be made again, but if they could be, the replacement cost would exceed $20,000.  Please contact me via email, and I will respond promptly.   References provided upon request.
