HIGH GRADE CUSTOM REMINGTON HEPBURN .38-55 TARGET/SPORTING RIFLE. A beautiful custom built rifle featuring a 34” standard weight half octagon barrel with no rear sight dovetail, scroll engraved case hardened action, very fancy dark and burley walnut pistol grip stock with checkered steel butt  plate and right handed cheek piece with accent line. As was original on the Remington Hepburn, the pistol grip had a rounded knob bottom and was checkered. This stock follows that tradition. The forend of matching walnut has the correct steel schnable tip as found on early Remington Hepburns. The barrel is nicely blued and if fitted with a globe front sight that will take inserts. The tang is fitted with a mid-range Soule vernier sight fully adjustable for windage and elevation. The receiver shows well executed tasteful scroll engraving around the perimeter of both sides, accent line engraving around the upper tang and upper receiver around the hammer, and has an American buffalo head on the top of the receiver ring. Weighs approx. 10 ¾ lbs. and has a length of pull from the center of the trigger to the center of the butt plate of approx.. 13 ¾”. Overall about as new inside and out as the day it came from the custom gunsmith’s shop. No markings on this one, but whoever did the work knew what he was doing! Would be super expensive to reproduce this one as it was built with sights, engraving, high grade walnut, checkering, cheekpiece etc.
